You will find that this particular recipe is meant to be extra strong because it has quite a few strong ingredients in it. So, this means it would be a great repellant to use when your camping deep in the woods, at the height of Mosquito season or if you really want some extra, strong protection. You will also want to keep in mind, though, that this recipe takes about 3 weeks to make, so ensure you have plenty of time to prepare it before you absolutely need it for your outdoor activities! Thankfully, with this repellant, you should be able to go an hour or an hour and a half without re-applying! Before you can begin with your first steps,
You will need:
-5 cups of Apple cider vinegar
-2 Tablespoons of Thyme
-2 Tablespoons of Mint
-2 Tablespoons of Sage
-One large handful of dried cloves
-1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol or witch hazel
-10 drops of Rose Geranium Essential Oil
Now that you have all of the needed ingredients, you can go ahead and get started! First, add the vinegar, herbs, cloves and Essential Oil into a glass jar and seal a lid on tightly.
Then, let this mixture sit for about 2 1/2 weeks.
During this time period, maybe once a day, shake the jar well. Once the 2 1/2 week time period is finished, strain the herbs and cloves from the vinegar with a collider.
You can dispose of the herbs and cloves at this time.
Then, add the rubbing alcohol or witch hazel (whichever you prefer).
Now, put the entire mixture into a spray bottle and it’s ready to use! It’s important to remember, that since this repellant is filled with strong ingredients, you will want to be careful about getting it near your eyes and smelling the fumes in large quantities. Such things could be harmful.
