While the hacks used simple things there are some great DIY household cleaners that work even better than the stuff you can buy.
Tub and Tile Cleaner: Mix together, 1/2-cup water, 1 2/3 cups baking soda, 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 1/2 cup Castile soap. Pour into a bottle. Use a cloth to apply the cleaner to the tub and tile and then just rinse clean. Save the rest for next time, just remember to shake well before using.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner: Pour a cup of vinegar in the toilet bowl and add 1/4-cup baking powder. Now just let it alone for about 15 minutes and then scrub with the toilet brush and flush.
Glass Cleaner: 1/2 cup vinegar, this time you have a choice between white or apple cider vinegar, 2 cups water, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol and 2 drops of essential oil of your choice. Pour into a spray bottle. *Warning: This cleaner does dry quickly if it is hot and sunny.
Moldy Grout Cleaner: We all hate mold so this is a quick simple way to get mold out of grout. You need to mix 2 cups of water and 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide and pour into a spray bottle. Spray this on the moldy grout and let sit an hour be- fore rinsing.
Vinyl and Linoleum Floor Cleaner: In a bucket pour 1 gallon of warm or hot water, 1 cup of vinegar and a few drops of baby oil for a great floor cleaner.
Furniture Polish: In a spray bottle mix 1/2 cup warm water with a few drops of lemon juice. You will need a clean cotton cloth also. Spray the cloth just to damp and polish your wood furniture. It smells great too.
