You’ll need:

  • an empty 2-liter plastic bottle,
  • ¼ cup of brown sugar,
  • 1 cup of warm water,
  • ¼ teaspoon of yeast.
  • Directions:
    • Take the bottle and use a sharp serrated knife and cut the top third of the bottle off. Now take the bottom of the bottle and pour in your brown sugar, warm water, and yeast. This mixture creates an irresistible concoction that attracts mosquitos.
    • Place the top of the bottle with the cap off, upside down back into the bottom.

2. Use essential oils, they are proven mosquito repellents. Carnation, basil, anise, and eucalyptus are the best. Mix them with some base oils and apply on the skin. For mosquitoes not to fly into your apartment, soak a napkin in essential oil and place it on the windowsill.

You can fill your home with a fragrance of essential oils with the help of an evaporator or oil burner. This will help get rid of mosquitoes even in the most spacious halls.

3. Put some branches of an elder tree in a vase to scare off mosquitoes.

  • pour 33.8 oz (1 liter) of water over a handful of chopped roots, boil it, cover, and leave for 20 minutes.

6. If you don’t want to jeopardize your health by chemicals in electric fumigator cartridges, or you have run out of fillers, pour the eucalyptus extract into an empty one. The mosquitoes will be gone in a split second!

7. Leaves of bird cherry and mountain ash will save your skin from bites if you apply it on the open areas of the body.

8. Mosquitoes can’t stand the smell of tomato leaves. So you can grow this useful vegetable on the windowsill.

If you’ve still fallen victim to a mosquito bite, wash the affected area with a soda solution (1 tsp. per half a glass of water).

Toxic substances contained in repellents are not completely harmless to humans and animals. Therefore, natural products are the best protection from mosquitoes.
